Changes to home recycling

From Monday 5 June 2017

Wales is leading the way in recycling in the UK and is one of the best in the world, but we want Wales to be number one and reach the Welsh Government’s ambitious target of a 70% recycling rate by 2025.

Bridgend County Borough currently has a recycling rate of 58%, so in order to achieve the targets we’re making several changes to your recycling and waste collections.

From 5 June 2017, you’ll be using new recycling containers for the weekly collections, while most homes will be limited to throwing out a maximum of two bags of waste each fortnight. We’ll also be introducing a new collection for nappies and absorbent waste.

More than half of homes will also have a change to their collection day.

Please look out for your new recycling containers, specially branded waste bags, collection calendars, and full instructions on how to use the new service which will be delivered to all homes before June.
